Aamir is playing the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat, who was born in a small village in Haryana, he helped his two daughters Kumari and Geeta Phogat in becoming a world-class wrestlers. Going against the conventions and facing objections of his fellow villagers, he made his daughters wrestle boys in an akhaada. Geeta Phogat and Babita both won gold in 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games respectively. Being a fantastic coach Phogat has been nominated for the Dronacharya Award.
